Timetable for Appeals for Admission
On the 2nd March 2026 all Local Authorities inform parents and carers of the secondary school their child has been allocated. Not all parents will necessarily have received their first choice of school and so there is an appeals process.
For September 2026 the full allocation of 166 pupil places has been made at Cardinal Allen Catholic High School. If your child has not been allocated a place at Cardinal Allen and you would like to try to secure a place for them, please follow the process below. We would strongly advise you not to reject the place at the school your child has been allocated until you hear the outcome of the Appeal process.
2nd – 31st March 2026: Appeals should be made online via this weblink: https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/children-education-families/schools/appeal-against-an-admission-decision/secondary-school-appeals
By the 31st March 2026: Appeal forms to be received by Cardinal Allen Catholic High School via Lancashire County Council in order for the appeals to be heard in the first round of hearings. Any additional documents that parents/carers wish to provide (i.e. medical evidence or baptismal certificate) should be sent with the Appeals Form or brought in directly to the school for the attention of Mrs Sales, the Headteacher’s PA.
11th-15th May 2026: Appeals that have been submitted by 31st March 2026 will be heard by an Independent Appeals Panel.
If you have any questions regarding appeals to Cardinal Allen, please feel free to contact school to have a chat with the Headteacher or his PA.
