Duke of Edinburgh

Cardinal Allen High School offers the Duke of Edinburgh Award at Bronze and Silver Levels to students in years 9, 10 and11. We are in an enviable position in having 4 members of staff with Expedition Leadership qualifications, 3 staff that are DofE Assessors and 3 Lancashire County Outdoor and Adventurous registered Instructors.
Currently we have 6 Bronze groups and 2 Silver groups running.

Bronze Award

Students working towards the Bronze award experienced expeditions in the Silverdale area of Lancashire and the West Pennine Moors.

Silver Award

Students working towards the Silver Award experienced expeditions that enabled them to cover the Ribble Way from to Preston to Gavel Gap in the fells above Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales.

Training

D of E training is every Thursday evening. Training includes First aid, Navigation trips around the local area and the Bowland Fells, Campcraft, and Expedition planning.
